Computer Systems student at CUNY New York City College of Technology, BTECH expected May 2027. Hands-on with virtualization, networking, and scripting. Real-world troubleshooting experience from four years in telecom. Based in Queens, NY.
I'm an IT student and aspiring network/systems professional based in Queens, NY. I'm finishing a BTECH in Computer Systems at CUNY New York City College of Technology (May 2027), building on an AAS in Computer Information Systems I completed in 2025.
My hands-on work spans network simulation in Cisco Packet Tracer, virtualization with Proxmox VE, Hyper-V, VirtualBox, and AWS EC2, Active Directory administration, web server configuration with Apache, packet analysis with Wireshark, and scripting in Python and PowerShell.
Before pivoting to IT full-time, I spent more than four years in telecom at T-Mobile as a Mobile Expert — troubleshooting devices, diagnosing connectivity issues, and resolving escalated technical problems for customers daily. That experience gave me something lab work alone can't: real communication skills under pressure.
I'm bilingual in English and Spanish. I earned my CompTIA A+ in 2026 and I'm now preparing for the Cisco CCNA, while running a Proxmox homelab at home to practice real IT Operations work.
Proxmox VE lab on a Dell OptiPlex running the services a small IT department would: Pi-hole DNS, Nginx Proxy Manager as a reverse proxy, a private mkcert certificate authority for internal HTTPS, scheduled backups, and Uptime Kuma monitoring with Discord alerts. Documented with a network diagram and a troubleshooting log of real outages and fixes.
Built LAN topologies in Cisco Packet Tracer with multiple subnets, VLANs, and inter-VLAN routing. Configured routers, switches, and end devices, then traced and fixed connectivity failures.
Captured live network traffic with Wireshark, identified protocols, and filtered packets by type. Includes pcap files and analysis notes.
Deployed Apache on an AWS EC2 Ubuntu 24.04 instance managed over SSH. Configured a named virtual host, a custom 404 page, clean URLs with mod_rewrite, and per site access logging, then verified each change in the logs.
Built a domain environment from scratch in Hyper-V: promoted a Windows Server VM to Domain Controller (DC01) with AD DS, DNS, and DHCP, and joined a Windows 10 client (CLIENT01) to the avalletech.corp domain. Created OUs with role-based user and group permissions, then applied and verified three Group Policy Objects, including Control Panel restrictions on client machines.
Python automation scripts built for real personal use on Windows. Includes a Downloads folder organizer that sorts files by type and a startup launcher using subprocess.
Collection of Android apps built in Java using Android Studio, covering UI interaction, device sensors, animations, and real-time logic. Layouts designed in XML.
